Marble fireplaces / Birmingham
Where can you get marble fireplaces in Birmingham? Sontuoso Stone makes and fits marble fireplaces for Birmingham customers from its Earlswood showroom near Solihull, with each surround and hearth made to measure for the chimney breast, wall width, fire and room style. Start with room photos, rough measurements or a showroom visit so the quote is based on the actual room.
This page targets marble fireplaces Birmingham specifically. The wider Birmingham area page covers fireplaces, electric fires, gas fires, stoves and showroom access for the city as a whole.
We do not claim to have a Birmingham showroom. The showroom is near Solihull at Earlswood, and the work is made in our Midlands workshop. Birmingham customers can visit to compare the stone, or start by sending room photos and rough measurements so we can advise on the right route.
The Birmingham area page is broad because the city has every kind of property, from Victorian terraces and villas to suburban semis, modernised rooms and apartments. This page keeps to the marble fireplace route. If the room has a chimney breast, the question is usually scale, opening size, hearth depth and whether a gas or electric fire suits the setting. If the room is flatter or recently updated, the surround and fire still need to be designed as one piece rather than chosen separately.
The Kings Heath case study is the clearest Birmingham example. It used a Kelham marble fireplace in Blanco Micro with a Flavel Proflame SL Autograph slimline electric fire in Black Nickel and Chrome. The brief was traditional fireplace detailing with a contemporary electric fire and no chimney work, which is a useful route for Birmingham homeowners who want a proper surround without returning to an old solid-fuel setup.
Choosing the stone in person matters for Birmingham projects because the same white or pale marble can read differently in an older terrace, a larger front room or a newly decorated living space. The colours and finishes page is useful for shortlisting, but the showroom visit lets you compare samples, surround proportions and fire finishes before the final quote.
The broader town hub is the Birmingham area page, which covers the wider fireplace, fire and stove service for Birmingham.
Process
Send photos, rough measurements and what you want the room to feel like, or bring them into the showroom so we can look at the fireplace wall properly.
We check the opening, wall, finish and practical route before quoting, so the product and the stonework are planned together rather than treated as separate purchases.
The surround, hearth, chamber, panel or trim is cut in our own Midlands workshop to the measurements and finish agreed for the room.
Once the product and stonework are ready, the fitting is arranged around the room, the access and the finish needed, with the details confirmed before work begins.
How we quote
We do not give a useful figure until we understand the room. The quote is affected by the size of the opening or wall, the product chosen, the stone or porcelain finish, the hearth depth, the amount of made-to-measure work and whether the job is a chimney opening, a flat-wall fix or a built-out feature.
Photos and rough measurements are enough for a first conversation. Before anything is made, we confirm the important details and give you a clear written route, so the price reflects the actual room rather than a guess from a catalogue image.
There is no online checkout because the important details are not fixed until the room has been understood. A showroom visit helps with stone samples, flame effects and fireplace scale, while a survey or final check confirms the practical route before the workshop cuts the surround, hearth, chamber or panels.
Lead time depends on the product, material choice, workshop schedule and fitting route. We give that timescale with the quote, and we are clear if a project needs extra checking before a date can be promised.
Best for
A made-to-measure surround can suit a deeper chimney breast without forcing a stock size.
A clean marble fireplace can hold a modern electric fire while keeping the room familiar.
Bigger walls often need the shelf, legs and hearth scaled properly so the fireplace does not look lost.
