Stone dining tables, made to order

A stone dining table has to suit the room as well as the finish. We make dining tables to order in our own Midlands workshop, so you can choose the material, size and edge detail around the way your kitchen, dining room or open-plan space is actually used.

Which dining table suits your home?

Start with how the table will be used. A family kitchen needs a surface that can cope with daily meals, homework, drinks and guests. A separate dining room can take a quieter, more formal shape. An open-plan room often needs the table to sit with the kitchen, flooring and fireplace rather than look like it arrived from a different house.

Porcelain is often chosen when you want a hard-wearing surface and a wide choice of finishes. Quartz gives a familiar stone feel with strong practical appeal, in colours from calm whites like Avalanche and Calacatta Borghini through to darker statement finishes like Carbon and Noir Gold. The right answer depends on the room, the light and what else the table needs to sit beside.

Sizing, shape and made-to-order details

Because the table is made to order, size is not treated as an afterthought. We talk through the room, the space around the chairs, the route into the house and the visual weight of the stone. A table can be too large even when it technically fits, so photos and room measurements are useful early in the conversation.

Edges, bases and finishes also change the feel of the table. A finer edge can feel lighter in a modern kitchen. A stronger edge can suit a larger room. If the dining table needs to work with a fireplace, worktop or existing stone floor, bring photos or samples into the showroom so we can compare them properly.

For open-plan rooms, we also look at what the table is seen with from the rest of the space. The stone may need to sit quietly with kitchen surfaces, or it may need enough character to hold its own beside a fireplace wall.

Care, delivery and access

Stone furniture is practical, but it is still worth choosing the right material for the way you live. We will talk through everyday care when you choose the finish, and you can take a sample home before deciding. The sample is useful because stone changes with the light and with the colours around it.

Delivery is planned before the table is made. We need to know about narrow doors, steps, tight turns and where the table is going. If access is awkward, tell us early. It is much easier to plan the size, base and delivery route before the workshop starts making the piece.

If you are replacing an existing table, photos of that table in the room are useful too. They show what already works, what feels cramped and what you want the new piece to solve.
