Custom-Made Porcelain Beam in Knowle

The brief

The customer visited our showroom looking for a non-combustible matt black shelf to sit above her stove. Having already visited several shops that could only offer traditional wooden beams, she was looking for something a little different. After exploring our porcelain samples, she chose Marazzi Granito Black for its understated matt black finish.

Made to measure

We manufactured a completely bespoke porcelain shelf in Marazzi Granito Black, made to the customer’s specific dimensions. The shelf was designed to sit neatly above the existing stove, offering a contemporary alternative to a traditional wooden beam. Once manufactured, we installed it in the customer’s home in Knowle.

The finish

The finished shelf provides a clean, modern feature above the stove, with the matt black porcelain complementing the stove below. A simple but effective addition that shows how porcelain can offer an alternative to traditional fireplace materials.
